Ingredients:
2, 6oz cans of tomato paste
15 oz can tomato sauce (I used no salt added)
4 tbsp brown coconut sugar (or light brown sugar)
4 tbsp granulated sugar (honey or maple syrup can be an alternative if needed)
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1 1/3 cups water
2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper (or more to taste)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Let’s Get Cooking!
Over medium heat, combine all of the above ingredients into a medium saucepan.
Stir until well combined. (I recommend a whisk)
Bring your ketchup mixture to a slow boil.
Once your ketchup mixture has reached a slow boil, reduce the heat to low.
Allow your ketchup mixture to simmer on low for 25 minutes. Stir the mixture frequently.
Turn off the burner and remove the saucepan from the heat to cool.
Once cooled, store your ketchup in a glass mason jar for up to 2 weeks.
Enjoy your delicious ketchup!
Note: According to research, you can store ketchup in the freezer for up to six months. Sweeteners and spices can be adjusted to meet your needs as well.
